While the GC32 catamaran was first launched back in 2012, February 2017 will be the first occasion that a combined Championship – for both regular competitors from the Extreme Sailing Series and the GC32 Racing Tour, along with other boats – has been held.

The event is being organised jointly by the GC32 International Class Association and OC Sport, owner of the Extreme Sailing Series.

The event is kindly being hosted at the Al Mouj Muscat, by Oman Sail.

The intention is to hold up to five races/day.

There are two race areas:

  • Alpha: off Al Mouj / The Wave, Muscat, Oman
  • Bravo: off Muttrah, Muscat

The winner of the GC32 Championship will receive the GC32 Championship Perpetual Trophy. There will also be a prize for winner owner-driver team.
